Kosher Dills

  1. Wash cucumbers - soak overnight in cold water.  Put cucumbers in the following jars
1/8 t alum
1 clove garlic
2 heads dill
1 hot red pepper
  1. Place the above items in quart canning jars
1 quart vinegar
1 cup salt
3 quarts water
  1. Boil the above items

  2. Pour over the cucumbers in the jars

  3. Add 1 grape leaf to each jar

  4. Seal and Process
    Quart - 12-15 min, Pint - 5 min
